A number of these appointments have been made in the last twelve months to further strengthen and deepen the core senior management team and to provide a platform for Panther’s next phase of growth.
Meet the Team
Colin McCarthy was part of the Screwfix leadership team which grew the turnover to over £500m. He introduced the trade counter sales channel and completely overhauled all aspects of the supply chain and operations. Colin’s role within Panther is Managing Director and since joining he has reorganised the entire operation to make Panther one of the leading providers of nationwide next-day 2-Man deliveries.
Simon joined Panther in January 2015 from Scott & Co, where he had been Director of Warehouse Operations & Logistics. Previous to this, he worked as a Depot General Manager with CityLink. Simon has also demonstrated an aptitude for sales-focused roles in the logistics sector, having previously held Sales Manager roles at TNT and CityLink. Simon is responsible for the performance of the warehouses facilities and assumed responsibility for the customer services team in July 2015.
Dave joined Panther in January 2015 having previously spent seven years as Logistics Manager for Silentnight Brands where he was responsible for all aspects of the distribution fleet, and warehouse health and safety. Previous to this, he was Distribution Manager for Instore plc, a discount retail operation with over 300 stores nationwide and a 350,000 sq ft Distribution Centre in Huddersfield.
At Panther David is responsible for managing the transport operation and instilling best practice and consistency of quality across all employed and subcontracted delivery crews.
Steve joined Panther in August 2014 from competitor Arrow XL. Steve brings a breadth of experience having held sales and business development roles across a number of industries including business-to-business, distribution, FMCG and retail. Steve has consistently driven sales figures ahead of target, and grew Arrow XL’s volumes by 38% across its entire network, increasing the customer base from 6 to 137 SME accounts.
Craig joined Panther as part of the acquisition of Hi Way Express Group/from Pacifica Group in October 2013, having previously held Managing Director roles in the logistics sector with both Hi Way and Phoenix Delivery Systems, and co-owned his own logistics business. Craig played a key role in the integration of the Hi Way acquisition, and before this in the start-up and development of Hi Way’s two-man delivery offering.
Steve joined Panther in January 2015. He has over 25 years’ experience in the logistics sector, working at Parcelforce and TNT before joining CityLink in 2004 and working his way up to UK Network Manager in 2012. Steve has demonstrated a keen eye for process improvement and has a history of delivering significant cost savings and operational performance improvements when in post.
