Brian McCarthy’s focus on the importance of the delivery experience will help drive the success of the revolutionary delivery specialists.
Chief Operating Officer Brian McCarthy’s expertise in both retail and logistics will help drive Panther forward after the Northamptonshire-based business posted an impressive £55million turnover for 2017.
Bringing with him a wealth of experience in both logistics and retail, Brian was previously Logistics Director at bed retailer Dreams and before that held positions at Home Retail Group and Asda having originally commenced his career in contract logistics.
A key part of his strategy is to focus on the customer experience in the final mile.
His business philosophy is “understanding the criticality of delivery experience is key to success.
“Panther has grown because it knows the delivery experience is vital,” he says.
“If a customer is impressed with the service they have received, they are more likely to order from the same place again. Essentially, it is an extension of their buying experience with the retailer.
“Consumers are now more willing to order expensive and large items online, and this is a testament to the practices and hard work of firms like Panther.
“Panther was among the first to bring the immediacy of the high street to the world of delivery.
“I’m delighted to be part of a company in its ascendancy and will relish working with the team and improving our offering even further.”
Brian will also support the management team in their pursuit of a stable infrastructure – vital for Panther’s expansion plans – by enhancing processes and metrics.
His appointment comes at a period of exciting growth for Panther. The turnover for this year is forecast at £72m and the company aims to grow to £114m by 2021.
Panther’s CEO Colin McCarthy said: “Panther has enjoyed huge success, but there are always ways we can enhance our business model.
“Brian will improve and expand our services and we are excited about the experience and innovation he will bring to the management team.”
